COVID Updates

5280 COVID Related Safety Regulations for Swimmers and Families

Stay home if you are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms. Do not come to practice or interact with swimmers if anyone in your household or your known contacts have tested positive or are exhibiting symptoms.

A positive COVID test will result in a minimum of 14 days quarantine, notification to the team, and a doctor's note clearing them for participation.

All swimmers and family members will wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth during out-of-water practices and team activities.

Coaches will take temperatures of all swimmers, family members and coaches who enter the pool or land drill facility to verify a temperature of less than 100.4 before admitting into the practice area.

Coaches will watch for signs/symptoms of COVID-19 and immediately notify a parent to come pick up a swimmer if symptoms are present.  (Symptoms include: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea)

Social distancing guidelines of no closer than 6ft., both in and out of water, will be followed.  Colored cones and pool noodles will be used to mark designated areas for each swimmer. A coach will be responsible for setting out cones/noodles to ensure minimize exposure to all staff, swimmers and families.

Swimmers may come closer than 6ft. if actively underwater, doing figures or passing during lap swimming.  6ft of distance will be resumed as soon as the swimmers surface or are doing drills with heads above water.

Any swimmers actively defying the safety protocol, or swimmers who are unable to follow protocol will be asked to leave.

Attending practice and failure to notify the team of known symptoms or positive COVID-19 test of a swimmer or family member will result in possible removal from the team.

Swimmers will be in charge of bringing their own gear to each practice. Mats, goggles, nose clips, towels, water bottles and other supplies must NOT be shared between swimmers.
